I have some sweet corn in modules looking very healthy as I've been putting it in the greenhouse by day and bringing in at night. They are probably 10-15cm high now. Should I put in bigger pots and keep inside for a nother few weesk or start hardening off and put outside? Looking at the long term weather forecast its looking like lows of around 7 degrees for the next 10 days would they be OK in that? I guess if there was a cold night I could cover with fleece?

Any thoughts? Thanks!

Sweet corn does not like temperatures below 10 degrees. Put them out too soon and if they get a cool spell they will sulk.

thanks, think I'll keep them under cover til later in the month. They are growing so fast though!

I agree its a bit early for planting out..i only sowed my first batch last Saturday

Starting to look a bit big for their modules now at about 20cm high although some are much smaller than others and not looking as good.

As its still a couple of weeks til they can go out, would you transplant to pots first?

It sounds like they need it, but they are also notorious for not liking root disturbance.

I would imagine that the roots fill the module by now and that lifting them out of them would create very little root disturbance.

I'd do it.
