Hi there, I'm not an expert by any means.. but it's obvious you've gone to a lot of trouble for your ladies.  Have you considered an electric fence too?  I managed to get a very reasonable one from my local 'Scats' store - not sure if you have a Scats near you?  But it was approx £60 and runs on D cell batterys which are replaced every 5-6 weeks... It certainly helps me and the girls sleep much better at nite!
We do have foxes here and so far (touch wood) no problems.....

I think a fox could get in over the back fence.  They can probably get onto the shed roof and jump in from there.

I don't think they would stop a fox.

Looks good to me although a fox will theoretically get into any pen if it tries hard enough. The point to the fox is 'is it worth it'?

You could add any of the advice offered above but, at some point you too, have to say 'is it worth it'?

After totally fox proofing your run, it could be hit by a nuclear strike tomorrow or a jumbo jet could land on it. Have you taken that into consideration?

Seriously though, it looks good.  :)

Vecten they wasn't asking if it would be hit by a nuclear strike but if it was fox proof which is what we have answered. Obviously it is worth it in order to keep their chickens safe. As we have seen on here many times the heartbreak when somebody loses their birds to a fox/mink/stoat etc we take the issue of predator proofing very serious.

Why not nip over to our welcome section and introduce yourself to everybody.

do you think looking at the drop from the 8ft post would make a fox think twice at jumping in?
as it couldnt get out?

When a fox is hunting it will not consider whether or not it can get out. It is good advice to put some netting on top :)
Experience is what you get when you didn't get what you wanted!!
