Are you expecting snow overnight?
« on: December 09, 2017, 18:28 »
Well, it's forecast here from about 0400 Sunday morning, complete with amber warning.

Can't escape the feeling that the Met Office has cried wolf a bit too often in recent years (i.e. since 1987!) but with that policy I suppose they're going to be right eventually...

Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

One of the best things about being an orang-utan is the fact that you don't lose your good looks as you get older

Local weather forecast says there is a possibility of snow, in the early hours but it changes to gale warnings by lunchtime

Whatever happens everybody agrees that it's going to feel very cold

we too are on the edge of the amber warning. downside we are at altitude so probably have snow not rain.
jezza pity you weren't closer to clear our back roads if the need arises. I expect you will not mind getting the kit out to make sure it works!

It wasn't amusing driving in it this morning, we've only had about 2" but I've not seen ANY gritters at all during the cold spell  I cross 3 council boundaries on my drive over to ML's and none have gritted not even the main roads. Tomorrow rush hour is going to be a nightmare.

We've had forecasts of snow, then of no snow, then of snow, then of no snow all week. Looking at the "rainfall" side of the met office website, looks like we shan't get above freezing today but will miss out on the snow.

We were forecast rain, but have had quite a bit of snow and its still falling.  We very often dodge the snow here in Reading, but not this time.

No snow here, but a lot of rain.

I wonder if there is snow elsewhere in Kent, further up/down the line, as I've heard no trains yet.

I know how disruptive it can be, but still can't help feeling a bit disappointed with the light dusting we've had so far.
Apparently South Yorkshire has now been downgraded from Amber to Yellow for snow, but I can't verify that because the Met Office website is currently hanging on by a thread (I wonder why?  ::))

And very slippery the roads are too  ???

6" overnight and still going here ...  Kids are out with the sledges on the field.   :)  Sundays are a good day for snow, if it has to do it.

I wish I could tell the DHL delivery driver not to bother trying to get here today ... but there is no way to get in touch.   >:(  I dont want her to struggle un-necessarily, or to suffer if she has to abandon the delivery.  Its not fair.

Nothing here but it rarely snows on the Island.   Here East Wight is very windy and the sea is crashing up over the Yaverland Road.
