Cheers Splodger

I'll get snapping tomorrow  :)
Snappy

No amount of time can erase the memory of a good cat, and no amount of masking tape can ever totally remove his fur from your couch.

I could give up chocolate but I'm not a quitter.

Oh, nice space I would go for a large triple or more curtain using the back too. So you would need to keep and tie in two horizontals about a feet high, from there keeping 3-4 uprights along the strongest poles which can be lead across the top. That would be one possible framework.

Dig up some turf first by the looks of it.

i have found something that might help - i can't post it - but will pm you snappy

i will say one thing though - and this goes across the board with climbers that will need pruning or that will need to be tied

do not allow the climber / do not make the climber - go behind trellis work or supporting wires - not if you want to be able to prune properly

you will cause alot of damage to the growth that you want to keep - and it is very difficult to get to the right bits - to prune

with some vines - a long used technique is to un-tie a vine in january and let it flop forward - if it's tucked behind trellis you can't let it flop (for those interested - it's to allow sap to flow and thus encourage side shoots to appear at regular intervals)

it's a common mistake made - especially with roses

there is also an art to tying up your climbers - but that's for another day

anyway check your messages

it's more of a time issue - plus i have to think of an easy way to explain it - maybe with some pics

and lastly - my fingers are aching - and i need to rest them - so that i will only be 3 questions slower in the quiz
