You might have seen on the frugal thread that as managed to get 12 2L perennials for £24 delivered (pot luck) and they all look fab - all were labelled as well except 1. Does anyone have any ideas what this could be? All the other plants are ones that flower May/June- Oct so I guess this would be similar but I can't seem any buds on it at the moment

Looks like it could be a perennial lobelia, might have bright red or blue flowers

Thanks. I've had a look but all the images I can see online have very green leaves. These leaves are a purplish green - lovey colour.
Either way I will plant it out but it would be helpful to know size and sun/shade preference etc!

I too think it is a perennial lobelia.

Maybe Newshoot will be along soon, she's very good at identifying things😊

Thank you snowdrops, but I think you all already had it :)
It does look like a perennial lobelia. The old favourite purple leaved one is Queen Victoria, but there are some newer ones like Princess Scarlet and Black Truffle.

I have looked up those varieties and you are right! I got some lovely perennials in this batch -including a huge fuschia and 2 different types of salvia (including the gorgeous black/purple one). Just got to decide where to put them now :)

Yes I'd forgotten about the queen Victoria one, its salvias that come in blues isn't it not lobelia's

I wasn't even aware there were variations of lobelia. Looks very pretty
