Not been too bad here at all.

Did some watering with the hose for the first time on Sunday. Can't remember when I last did it-probably before the very wet June. Have hardly got the can out either.

No significant rain in my location (West Sussex) for a fortnight, but partly thanks to heavy clay soil and the significant rain at the beginning of August everything is doing fine. I watered some seedlings and the French beans yesterday evening, and am now running low on butt water. There looks to be some rain from Thursday onwards and over the weekend (oh what a surprise, the fine weather breaks down just before the weekend), which should replenish ground water and partially fill the butts.

It's been peeing down in the dead centre of Wiltshire for most of the night, and is still at it.

Cheers,  Tony. :lol:

The same here in Manchester and it's forecast to continue all weekend.

8 blue barrels all empty though the veg plants are growing and healthy, soil not too dry underneath!

Some chrysanthemum plants were drooping last night!

Started raining during the night, and is still coming down lightly here in Gloucester!

Supposed to rain the rest of the weekend, should do the grass good, a family of blackbirds have been deworming the lawn this morning!

Cheers!
STOP, and smell the roses!

Rain here as well  :D

The chickens are having a fine time sipping rain drops off the mesh of their runs.  They have drinkers, but apparently this is special water  :wacko: :lol:

Pickling it down here in Cheshire, but we didn't need the rain as we've had plenty already this season :mad:

Some welcome rain for the garden last few days here.
First since the 7th August.
Thursday = 1.6mm
Friday = 2.6mm
3.6mm of rain this morning, but has brightened up now.
Its a breezy day today, the SW wind is 16-19mph with some 25-33mph gusts.

Good deluge here in north Hants yesterday and more promised for later today. We definitely needed it as we had scorching weather till Thursday. Temperature has dropped a full 10 degrees celcius down from 28 to 18. We now need more sun to ripen the outdoor tomatoes. Still can't complain courgettes and runner beans have gone ballistic.

Cheers HH
Keep digging

As the OP, I'm still waiting for rain after weeks without in Dorset. Thunder clouds all late afternoon, but a few scattered drops and no more. Ground extremely dry. Anyone want a million runner beans?

Rain!!! Whats that?

That wet stuff we had far too much of back in the winter of 2013/14, and parts of the north had way too much of last December.

This is one of the annoying things about the UK's weather, these days it seems to go over the top in one direction or another, you can have months of way above average rainfall then hardly anything at the time of the year when it is most useful (e.g. 2010-March 2012 very dry, immediately followed by the wettest April-June on record) ::).
