BRUSSEL SPROUTS

This is my first time of growing brussel sprouts. I cooked some today and was very pleased with them...however they cooked really quickly and had little of the pongy smell you get with shop bought sprouts!!! Is this normal?

it's when they're cooked longer than 5 minutes apparently

We cook our home grown sprouts like this and they never pong.
