Feeding my plot
« on: December 18, 2017, 18:08 »
Hi all,

My allotment plot is at the top of a steep hill with only narrow grass paths to get up to it, i need to keep on feeding the plot and this year i really dont wish to wheel 40plus barrowloads  of manure up the hill as per previous years. As i get older the harder it gets and i dont feel up to the challenge :(

whats your thoughts on switching to using  for example 6x  concentrated chicken pellets ?
incidentally i bought 3 no  8kg buckets from a local supplier for £6 each over the weekend  .

6X is good stuff, but I prefer the fibrous manure sold in bags, rather than the pellets. It seems to have more
body in it to help the soil, rather just feed the veg.

Thanks Both, hopefully those and the limited amount of compost i make on the plot will suffice.  next question would you apply the 6 x now and leave it work its way in over winter or apply a few weeks before planting?
