Some people have tried but with very limited success.

Bear in mind that you will need a frost-free greenhouse.  Usually the sowing time would be about August.

If you use the search function, you'll doubtless find quite a few previous threads to look through on this.

I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

It won't cost much to have a go and find out. I'm a bit skeptical myself, you need a frost free area or be prepared to bring the bags indoors on cold nights. The potatoes are also growing during the period of the year when daylight hours are quickly decreasing, so I wonder how much solar energy they can really convert into carbohydrates, after using what they need to survive and grow. I've thought about it but never tried it myself so can't say if it is worthwhile or not.

Your other big problem is trying to grow them during the peak of the blight season.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Thank you all for your reply's,the reason for having ago with the potatoes is to get more from my greenhouse, also very rare we get frosts here on Anglesey.
As you say it won't cost  alot to have ago,i already have the sacks,so all I need to do is decide which variety to buy.

Your other big problem is trying to grow them during the peak of the blight season.

And the slugs will be out in force as soon as the usual wet and windy autumn weather, combined with mild daytime temperatures, arrives.

I have decided due to the information from everyone its a no to new spuds,as the last message said you have roast spuds on Christmas day,i do like my roast potatoes at Christmas :D.
As the last 37yrs of being together,i do the veg and the gravy, and my husband does the roasts and looks after the turkey,he would have next to nothing to do :lol:Lillileaf
