Garlic for Autumn planting
« on: August 25, 2008, 21:13 »
Hi,
Last year i got some Garlic from WG and they were very good.
I know he doesn't post anymore on here, so I need somewhere to get this years over wintering Garlic for planting in October.

Anyone got any ideas? Have tried Sutton's et al and they are way to expensive.

i usually just buy it from wyvale or another garden centre, you usually get 3 bulbs for about £2. i suppose it depends on how many you plan on growing.

Where is WG? or is that a question i am not supposed to ask?

last year I just broke open a sprouting bulb and planted the cloves in my garden. They grew about half a dozen bulbs. It may not've been the best idea but it worked. I'll plant more this time, next to my roses  :) .

I was wondering that too ! Did I miss something ?

I bought garlic two years ago , now just use some of the harvest to replant and eat the rest , its working well so far.

Don't know if its confidential or banned info but he has his own website now. There was some stuff going on, never did really find out what (not nosey enough to go digging!), diferences of opinion probably, so he set up on his own.

Do you plan individual cloves and garlic, and each one of them grows a new bulb? could I do this in a small container?

Is this indoor or outoor gardening?

WG and Selkie moved on to another site. DD is probably just very busy harvesting all those peas    I know he's still around, probably buried up to his neck in peapods
