I need some info on the timing of a Victoria Plum ie when should flowers appear, should I expect fruit in the second year after planting I assume it is self fertile

Plums flower fairly early, maybe March early April and are vulnerable to frosts.  Nobody round here had a plum crop last year, this year looks to be OK.

So, will your tree crop?  I have no idea.

I agree. Mine was in full blossom 2nd week in March and all over by 1st week in April. The trees are full of budding plums at the moment so things are looking good, fingers crossed. If they ripen, it will be my first harvest for 3 years! Mind you, the site is in a hollow and is a bit of a frost trap so, no wonder  :)
There's more comfrey here than you can shake a stick at!

Hi
Any advice on how I should prune my Victoria plum. I did have a couple of flowers this summer but they came to nothing. There are also some new shoots coming through. Next year will be it's third year and I would really like some fruit.
How is your harvest

i read that plum trees have to be pruned in summer months,

also prune new groath back to 8 inches,

finally cut out all inward facing branches

Here's the RHS advice on pruning plums  :)
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...
