How easy is it to get the girls used to a new coop?

Prior to the winter we will be buying a new coop and was wondering how difficult it was going to be to get them used to somewhere new to lay and sleep?

I have always found that they wander around for a while trying to find their old home. Some will be brave and investigate the new home but you may have to put a few of your girls to bed for a few nights (easy if you have an enclosed run but not easy if you have free range hens). Some people find putting a light inside the coop helps guide them in but I have never bothered.

I found a little gentle herding did the trick, then after the first night it's as if they've lived there forever.

I shake an ice cream tub with corn mix and they run over. Put corn inside Hutch (temp home) and in the 2 girls go and I shut the door.

Ours were in it wile we were building it, they are so nosy!
