Hi Ma has he called you yet, and how is the hen?
We have 17 chickens, 3 quail, 2 dogs, 3 cats and that's enough (for this week)

Breeder finally rang us back and said we could exchange her today. Only thing is now I don't know if I want another hen from there now. Anyway hubby will take her back and see whats what.
She has be moving around and foraging and drinking water but no food not even the corn thrown in as a treat. :(

If you got your other chickens from the same breeder and they are OK, I would exchange her.

Good luck, whatever you decide to do Ma, keep us posted.
Think you are making the right decision by taking her back :)

I am sure another will be fine, breeders usually buy in hybrids as youngsters to grow on, and not unusual to get the odd one that doesn't thrive. If you go back, just have a quick look around to check husbandry, do all the birds look healthy and alert? Does the set up look clean? :)

Poorly hen taken back to breeder and as soon as she was put down off she trotted and started eating the grass   Hope she will be ok now.
New hen looking good so fingers crossed she will be ok just the problem of introducing her to the battles that are allready going on with the 3 new ones we had yesterday now.

This pecking order malarky is not for the fain hearted is it. Mind you I think the squabbles between my lot are no where near as bad as some I have read on here. Maybe I shouldn't have said that with having one more to introduce
