I am making lemon curd to enter into our local show and I was told yesterday that when showing lemon curd you must only use cellophane and a rubber band for the top not a screw top lid.  Is this true?  Also does anyone have a good lemon curd recipe?

It depends on the rules of the show, which covering the curd has, so you'd need to see those before you go ahead.
