Pansies
« on: February 22, 2015, 20:11 »
I bought several trays of plug pansies from the Range for half price. They were displayed outside of the store but under a shelter which is open at the sides. Should I plant them out or transfer them into bigger pots and keep them in the poly tunnel?

I'd keep them in the tunnel for a few weeks - they haven't been used to frost and a cold wind could be the death of them.

It really annoys - me the garden centres were even selling begonia and pelargonium plug plants at the weekend with no advice about keeping them somewhere warm  >:(

Thank you, that is what I thought but just wanted a 2nd opinion.  There was no guidance at all on these plants.

It will also give them a better chance of establishing so you will get bigger plants to plant out.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.
