Title: Debris Netting to keep ground warm

Wondering if debris netting would be any good at keeping the ground warm as thinking of covering the  spuds with straw then putting this on top.

I suspect the holes in the netting might be a little too large for much of an insulation effect, but it could be quite helpful to keep the straw from blowing away too far - though it might just all bunch up at the downwind part of the pinned-down netting.

You'd also need to keep an eye on the plants' growth over time, to make sure the netting wasn't still on and restricting the upwards growth of the vegetation.

An interesting experiment, perhaps.

I use debris netting with water piping hoops to protect my brassicas and it doesn't seem to increase the temperature of the soil. However the enviromesh I use over my carrots has much smaller holes and definitely increases the temperature underneath.
