Advise needed for seedling growing this year
« on: May 19, 2010, 15:58 »
I sowed some Francoa sonchifolia , Berkeya purperea,Libertia formosa, Verbascum Silver Lining,Amberboa Muricata and Monarda earlier in the year. Some are doing better than others, for example the Amberboa looks really healthy as does the Verbascum , but the others are very small. Will they flower this year or shall I leave them in their pots and wait till next year to put them in the garden.

I would leave them in their pots untill they are strong enough to plant them out in the garden (until next year if necessary). The pot is a much safer and protected environment and you can control much better how the plants are doing. I always do this with the slow growing perennial plants I sow and it is working :-).
