this sickle does the job

following  on from my recent post about our new lotty... this is what we purchased today and we used it to clear 10 x 10ft (roughly) worth of weeds in about 30 mins x

Mr Sunny has a simliar one and it does good service in keeping our verges clear  :D

 the sickle does a marvelous job i must admit the petrol strimmer has rather taken over from my sickle although i still use my old  handed down scythe for cutting down nettles it still does a good job :D

like your sickle it relies on hand power or power to your elbows whichever you prefer don't cut you fingers sharpening it ;)

 ;) I've one of the full sized ones, parked it by the front door last halloween. opened the door in a monks habit, the kids thought it was great, afew of the parents had to nip home for a change though.

Mr Sunny does have a skeleton mask ,......... hmmmmmm ...........
 

oh yes, we shall be on holiday.

I don;t think his sickle is allowed on an aeroplane  :lol:

I have a short handled sickle which is absolutely brilliant for when harvesting the comfrey leaves - best thing I have used to tackle the job  :D

just been to Been and queued and it's a lot smaller than it looks in the photo...
