50!  But some people, register when they have less than that, because if there is an avian flu outbreak, the registered people are supposed to get the relavant info about whether they need to keep their chooks indoors earlier than other people.

There isn't much paperwork, and it doesn't cost you anything!

ok thank you, how do i go about registering please, and whta do i do is it just a form to fill out?

Just phone DEFRA.  They may give you the number of your most local office, but I can't remember exactly as its about 15 years since we've been registered with them.

hi i have 10 hens and a lil man, but have a very broody hen so thinking of expanding lol :lol:
