Garden being invaded
« on: October 08, 2018, 14:04 »
Crocosmia.   From next door,   they are trying to kill it off with Industrial glysophate, and it has now come under the fence.   I haven't got room for it.   Have tried several weedkiller sprays, but no, not working.
Any ideas please.   Mrs Bouquet

The Glyphosate should work, but will probably need repeated applications as it's a thug - it took 3 sprays to do it here, and the last few repeat offenders were dug out ::)
Other than that all you can do is dig the rhizomes out and then sink a barrier along the fence line. Any that escape the first digging will reappear in Spring and can be removed as they do.
Good luck!

As they've got quite leathery leaves, I'd trim them down and then spray so it will get into the plant's system better.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.
