Poorly Foot
« on: April 13, 2017, 10:31 »
Hi to you all.

It's been ages!

I have a chicken with a poorly foot.  I have made an appointment with our local vet.

I am going to bathe it in warm salted water.

Is there anything else I can do?

Nutmeg is well in herself, eating, drinking and laying.  She is roaming around the garden with a slight limp.

All responses appreciated x

The vet will be able to tell you if it bumble foot, which need treating.  It could also just be a sprain from a heavy landing.  That will heal up on its own.

If your hen is otherwise well, there's not much more you can do until you get to the vet.
