Oliver.
« on: November 08, 2009, 18:46 »
Well Oliver came back home on Tuesday, the day after his op and it really seems to have been a great success although early days.

Poor lad has a very naked shaved bottom and if you thought it wasn't possible for a cat to lose more than just his testicles you were wrong!

He actually seems pretty much back to his usual self and bouncing about. Managed to keep the lampshade thingy on him till yesterday (meant to be on till Thurs!) but then sat and watched him lick his wound for 5 minutes with it on so gave it up as a bad job particularly as he was getting sores round his neck were it was rubbing.

Thank God for pet insurence!
Be like a duck. Calm on the surface but always paddling like the dickens underneath.

Glad he's feeling better...and you must be too! :)
We have 17 chickens, 3 quail, 2 dogs, 3 cats and that's enough (for this week)

He had a perineal urethrostomy! And yes, that means that he pretty much had a Buddy done to him. Basically the end of his penis had got blocked up with crystals and debris and he couldn't wee so they made a hole further up his urethra (the tube from his bladder to the outside) and no willie left. Then again he's already been castrated so only used it for weeing and it wasn't working for that!

He does seem loads better, infact now he is fixed he seemes better than he has done in a really really long time in terms of weeing good volumes and not having to go every 5 mins. He has also had less accidents than before surgery so all good. Seems to have shrugged off the surgery without any hiccups.

I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Hooray for Oliver!

So glad he's home... I bet he's being spoilt rotten - cats are so good at winding us round their little paws  ;)

Snappy

No amount of time can erase the memory of a good cat, and no amount of masking tape can ever totally remove his fur from your couch.

Oh yes, just read the posts again and spotted the word "cat" in there.

Apologies to Mr Kate.  If there is one.  Because I am not assuming there is.  But there might be.  Not that I am speculating.  Just apologising, just in case.  But it's not like any girl needs a man to validate them.  Unless they want one, obviously.  Aaaaggghh.  Hole.  Digging.  Stop...  :D

Hope Oliver is on the mend.  Cats are great are doing the big "wounded soldier" act and is no doubt laying on a cashmere blanket insisting that his prawns are peeled pronto!   :D
