You're right, there is something that looks like soil there  Best of luck...and don't try to do it all in one day, or even two. You'll never stand fully upright again if you do. Slow and easy is best.

Blimey - well done you!

Have just been told I can have a lottie, after wanting one for more than 5 years, though I have relocated in between times.

I can't wait to see it but I am seriously hoping it isn't as overgrown as yours as there just aren't enough hours in the day as it is

Looking forward to seeing pics of yours as it progresses
1 lovely hubby, 3 dogs, a bunny and 7 ex batts and a shiny new lottie!  (so far)

good luck.  Make my half plot look weed free when I took it on.
Maybe try and get a v small area good enough to plant in.  Then you could put in some Garlic, at least then you can see something growing while you are working.

and i thought mine was bad  :nowink: why o why do those responsible for allocating plots wait for them to get so bad b4 they are re allocated. It must have been apparant months ago that the plot was not being kept as it should, with the waiting lists it should have been offered ages ago

That brick build block house type structure seems to have a partial drain pipe still fitted could be useful for collecting rainwater into your water butts if it is part of your plot. Save all those tedious trips to the tap.

again, i thought mine was bad! and that was just 2ft long grass.

and again, why do they let them get like that. on our site it was just for horses, my girlfriend has one there, then the council decided they could fit some gardens on around the perimiter of the site. they came down and cut all the over grown areas and grass in march and pegged out 8 new plots, it was nearly june when i got my plot so you can imagine what the grass was like after a full spring of sunning its self >:( it cost me a full year rearly as by the time i got through the grass and put a fence up it was too late to plant most stuff. if we had got them in march when they first did them we could have had allsorts in.

well done anyway there mate, its amazing how different they look after they been cleared, mine did not look so big but once i cut all the grass down and stood back and looked i was like  how much digging is there to be done
