If it's anything like last winter, in an armchair with lots of tea till the weather improves.

In other words, if the ground is sodden or the lawn frozen leave well alone.

I do a final weeding and mow the lawn, plus trim the edges. I also cut down any perennial stems that don't help to protect the plants and prune off any long stems of roses to prevent wind rock - if you could look out of my window now, I'd be blown off my feet here!! I shred any prunings, mulch over beds with last year's composted shreddings, gather fallen leaves for composting in bags after emptying them of last year's contents, maybe empty a compost bin for mulch too so I can refill with winter's stuff. Ha-ha-ha- with this annus horribilis that we have had, I am WELL behind, but that is my intention and goal if both me and the weather give us chance!!!
