Panted 150 onions and 120 garlic this morning.

That'll keep them nice and warm!

I'm going now.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Panted? Is that some devilishly clever way to get your onions off to a good start?  :tongue2:

(I've heard of 'old boys' carrying peas around in their waistcoates a while before planting).

I was late ordering garlic & has yet it hasn't arrived, they said delivery until the end of Nov,so hope they aren't tricking me  I'm sure they will be OK & if I can't get them in the ground they will go in modules in the greenhouse-no heat.

Our dear neighbour, who has been wonderful in showing us how things are done here in BG, came over just before dark with a bowl of garlic for us to plant and strings to keep them in line. We had to explain that we had already p(l)anted 120 and had another 50 to go in so didn't need them. Then felt guilty all evening at the sight of her crestfallen face. :( It seems she had been over to our English neighbours earlier and had the same reaction, so feel even worse now. I suppose, as OH says, we need to be as independent as possible, but still......

She is going on about lettuces too, but OH has bought (far too many) lettuce plants from the market, (so that we know we have the right ones to cope with the harsh winter) along with a carrier bag full of strawberry plants, all for less than two quid, so we are going to be busy again!

gave up waiting for some dry weather, and got the children to plant them in modules in the school garden greenhouse. I'll bring them home when the weather improves.
