I'm applying manure tomorrow should I apply Lime aswell for my brassicas next year or is that a Spring job?

If I need to do now will it be lime or manure first or doesnt it matter?

Never apply manure and lime together. They doesn't react well. If you are manuring now do the liming in spring.

I suffered badly from club root for a number of years on my allotment and as a result had a very poor crop of brassicas with the exception of Kohl Rabi which seemed to be immune!

I used to have to spread a lot of lime, which did not have any effect on prevention and costly as well!

One year I had almost run out off lime, so I just sprinkled some into the cabbage etc planting hole and did not lose any that I remember to club root!

I do not suffer at all now, i'm sure the spores are still in the soil but because of the concentration of lime they escape!
