Onion sets
« on: September 19, 2009, 09:23 »
I have some onion sets left from the spring! Can I plant these now? Or do I have to find some sets that are specifically named as Japanese sets? my worry is that theses sets will not do very well?

You do need sets that are specifically for autumn planting but there are other ones than just the japanese ones.

you do indeed.

Just put mine in and rather than doing them in the usual "few rows" array, I have instead put them right up the whole length of the allotment, just in the border, with the shallots (to arrive shortly) that will go down the other length. Just for a change!
