Egg weight (chicken that is)
« on: January 16, 2009, 17:00 »
What is the average egg weight? Why do I ask?  Well I have purchased the following.
http://www.argos.co.uk/ProductDisplayTRK019?partNumber=8421526
Why?
Well I am going to worm the girls (chucks) also for project pig and project bee.
And I wondered what the weight of an egg should be.

You're plannign to get eggs from pigs and bees ??

Our eggs prob average about 90g but the biggest might challenge those scales. They can approach 120g  :)

Doesn't say if the weights are with or without the shells!

Are you going to weigh your girls? & how do you weigh a bee?

It also depends on the chicken! Some will always lay smaller eggs (av 50g) some will consistently lay whoppers - and it doesn't depend on the size of the bird either!  :D
