I'm forward planning to when I finally pack my tomatoes off to the plot I've too many plants to be paying out for growbags so I'm putting them in direct with some compost I just dont know what spacing I need I got Gardners Delight and Alicante also a cherry Minibel (which doesnt need pinching out should that make a difference)

Tomatoes that don't need pinching out are bush vareities and od take up a bit more ground space.

I've usually planted cordon varieties about 18 ins apart outside, to make sure their is enough air circulation. Bush ones about 2 feet apart.

Mind you, I haven't grown outdoor tomatoes for while due to threat of blight

I'd agree with 18 inches to 2 feet for cordons. At that distance the leaves just about touch on a mature plant.

2ft apart is about right ,

ill be putting 10 tom plants in my 8 x 6 greenhouse.

2 bunches of marigolds in the far corners of the greenhouse
