nesting sparrows
« on: April 15, 2018, 10:05 »
A pair have decided to nest in a box in the garden.  There is a sparrow box with a square open front, and a tit box with a round opening.  They are using the tit box, but the male is very much bigger and struggles to get in and out of the opening.  When he goes in, she follows.  I have an image of her inside the box having to help pushing him out.  They are currently taking grass and twigs in, (she is bringing the poo out !)
I hope they don't decide to move somewhere bigger, or he doesn't get too fat !!   regards Mrs Bouquet

Hmm - the sparrows I know have an eye on the privet hedges round my allotment for nesting. Noisy little brats they are too.

The spadgers will not nest there they just hang out !
The little darlings do snip leaves off to make windows onto their chosen perch and if there are two dozen spadgers there will be two dozen holes in the hedge ! :nowink:
