Thanks for your comments, Re Mr Fox, all around the main pen I've buried the wire mesh 12", on two of the sides there is also a wire fence which is buried and I have slabs along another side.
Our site has a chainlink fence around the majority of it. I'm furthest away from the area that doesn't, so I hope he'll be distracted before he reaches us!!
