How many of them and how far?

When we pick up day olds, they are crammed together in a box so they can't move around and hurt themselves.  This also helps to keep them warm.

But if you think this sounds harsh, you could wrap a hot water bottle in an old towel and put it in the bottom of a box.  But don't worry about food and drink until you get them in their brooder.

I'll show you how ours are packed by the professionals!  This way they can't fall over and hurt themselves!

I have used a microwavable heat pack under a small box when collecting a few chicks.

That's not too far to travel with them, they will be fine in a small box and should keep each other warm until you get home.
Can't wait to see pics of the cute new additions.  :)
