I have been given a wolseley major rotorvator with a briggs and stratton 5 hp engine. I cannot find a serial no.engine is minus spark plug and air filter .I need to find both could anyone help please.Filter housing is round 10 cm dia

Assuming you have the early side valve engine, the air filter is down as 392308 in my parts book, but take the canister to your dealer as there are a few almost identical filters. The plug is Champion J8.

Running from memory as you stand holding the rotavator handles the number faces you on the right hand side of the engine. It's stamped vertically into the steel cover on the rear facing section often needing a rub with emery to make it show up.
