Preparation of coop for first hens
« on: September 06, 2010, 14:12 »
With my coop now up, and bedding at the ready is there anything I need to do to the inside of the coop before I get my chooks this weekend?

Should I spray, or disinfect or clean or do anything now, before they arrive in their new abode??

Any help grateful.

Good Luck with your new chooks  :).  You could paint Diatom slurry onto the perch and in the cracks etc  and spray with poultry shield.  There are other more experienced people here who can give you more advice.

If your coop is new you shouldn't need to do anything with it. If it's second hand I would spray it as a precaution.
