wondering if anyone can help, i planted some jap onion sets in november , all have come up and doing ok , but the bulb has disappeared and they look like spring oinions , the stems/leaves all look very healthy apart from a tiny yellow tip to the leaves, any ideas,

The bulb was the stored energy that the plant has used to put up the first leaves, hence it's disappeared. The leaves just need time to grow and fill a new bulb now. Yellow tips might suggest some form of feeding is required.
