Glulam beams
« on: March 09, 2012, 22:52 »
We have some lengths of deep Glulam beams left over from the construction of our loft conversion and my OH suggested making raised beds out of them.  I thought they might de-laminate but I checked on the manufacturers website and it seems they are ok outside if treated

Has anyone tried this timber outdoors?

looking at their website they use them for windmill sails too so should be fine (having said that I have not tried them - sorry).
Staffies are softer than you think.

I'm going to give them a whirl. Nothing to lose as they're spare.  I have some timber treatment to put on them (clear) but I might give them a coat of Sadolin as well.  Got some new scaffold planks too so need to get cracking
