Title: Flat Hose irrigation advice please
Post by: Maryann on March 28, 2007, 15:15
Hi everyone - I hope this is the correct place for this topic!
I need to buy an irrigation system - not too expensive or tricky.

I have 2 outside taps - 1 at rear of house and 1 on side wall.
I have 3 areas I need to irrigate using flat hose.

1. Rear Garden
The side tap would be used to water veg and side border and would run in a straight line of approx 100ft.

2 & 3 Front garden
The rear tap is actually closer to front bed (odd I know!) and for that I need to water 2 areas so would need an L shape connector to join 2 flat hoses. 1 x 50ft and 1 x10ft

I hope this makes some sort of sense, but what I need is advice/tips on best way to irrigate these areas and what equipment I would need to purchase and lastly where from?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

MA

Not helpful I know but what happens if there's a hosepipe ban? Maybe think about incorporating a water butt/grey water aspect? Plus loads of mulching. See Bob Flowerdew/The No Work Garden (probably in the library) for hints and tips.

Because we now have both water butts connected and the big 1000ltr ICL container, our water bill has gone down and at the moment we are in credit for £15!!!

2 x 100 ft hoses will do for both in my thinking with a decent spray and straight head attachment. just water the front bed frommthe one hose and pull it around .use a wheel retriever on the wall to wind it back up on
