I don't think there is any legal disposal method at home ! My chosen method was to throw them over the hedge certain in the knowledge it would be gone next day ,then sit up the following night and shoot the fox when it came looking for another ,worked for me ! But I do live in the country  ;)
I cook therefore I grow

It is certainly an illegal method for our back garden keepers, Rog

Sick birds should be treated or culled.  Not left to be killed by a fox

Dead birds should be put into the domestic food waste and fire arms may never be used in back gardens to shoot foxes (or anything else) !

If you cant bury them and you cant burn them what are you supposed to do???  My incinerator is on the small field I own  but it is 20mtrs from the house and garden.  It came with the house as it has the septic tank on it......

'Ouch'!!!!!!!!!       which post is that?    Ive just lost over 10 birds, I cant put all those in the domestic waste especially as it is collected only once a fortnight, we still have to use plastic bags, and I live in remote countryside which would attract vermin, foxes, farm dogs and god knows what else!!!!

That is the recommended method for the odd chicken or two but 10 is rather a lot in one go. Which I suppose can happen with serious infectious diseases or fox attacks.

There is a bit more advice here though:

I'm certainly glad you cull them first, Rog.

We all have to be humane to animals - even if we had 100 acres  ::)

The ownly reason I mentioned the ground was to explain I wasn't using a firearm in a back garden  :)

Gottcha,  It's a message that most of us don't need but there are a few "idiots" around who just might try it.  Thanks for spelling it out for them.

Prod, put a kilo of silica cat litter in a bin liner.  Put the dead birds in the bag, tie a knot in the neck of the bag, then put the bag in another, again tieing a knot in the neck, then again with another bin liner.

If you have a wheelie bin, triple bagged birds with the silica gel wont attract vermin, and it shouldn't leak as the silica will absorb any liquid.
