Wilko Garlic
« on: January 15, 2019, 23:34 »
As anyone tried Wilko Garlic?  I
planned to order some seed potatoes & Garlic from Simply Seeds but really begrudge paying £5 p&p so discarded my basket as I'm trying to keep costs down at the moment.  So I wondered if anyone had any thoughts Wilko Garlic at £2 or £3 for 2 bulbs - Casablanca is the variety but I can't seem to find much about it.

I usually get my seed potatoes from there as I don't want loads and like the smaller packs and I've never had a problem.

Thanks
Missey

I planted an 11ft row of Wilko Germidour Garlic and another of their Golden Gourmet Shallots in September and they're all growing lovely, I'd buy them again.

I was a bit sceptical at only 2 quid for 2 bulbs but they rooted and shooted very quickly, look like a bargain!

Thanks both for the reassurance and saving those £'s in terms of both p&p and unit price  :D

I haven't tried it before, but for what it's worth I ordered my garlic online from Wilko this year. I was happy with the quality and condition of the bulbs when they arrived, so am confident I will get a decent crop out of them.

I got garlic, onion sets, spuds and a rhubarb crown. Very impressed with the quality of all of them. I sowed Wilko onion sets last year and had a good crop of large, tasty onions so I can definitely recommend those.

I had a mooch around the new stuff in Wilko's yesterday and have to admit I was also very impressed with the quality of their bulbs, roots, etc. Just off now to pick up some DIY stuff, but a few gardening extras might have to accidently fall into my basket....

Our wilko has just got all the spuds in, look decent except the Arran Pilots which all have 4inch white shoots all over them. Be picking some spuds up on Saturday methinks!
