By my standards 4 out of 9 is not bad for eggs sent in the post.  I've always had terrible results from posted eggs.  Shame about the others all the same.

Think the very dark one is a red herring. Of the three 'lighter' ones, one is a lot lighter yet and doesn't have such distinct goth eye make-up.

The photo is rubbish, to be honest.

I'll know soon enough and it was great for the children to have been able to watch.

Glad you managed to hatch some of your eggs, they are so cute.  Don't stay that way very long though.  My 2 1/2 week old Welsummer Bantam chicks have already started to spar with each other and are getting really good at flying.
