He grew so many plants they are now shared amongst many other plotholders who are constantly offering me a cucumber because they have so many.
They grow to around 150mm long x 40-50mm diameter and are not quite as red as the photograph suggests. They have an orange, rather gnarly skin but peel them and the crunchiness and taste is superb.
Has anybody else tried them?

Never heard of a red cucumber - they look quite something else.
