Quick Green Manure for late Winter/Early Spring sowing?

As per title, anyone recommend one,I`m in the North West...ta for now.

You're not going to get a lot going this time of year.

Only thing I think you could do be to pre-germinate some grazing rye in a bag of moist compost somewhere warm. You might get it continue outside if this warm weather continues. I don't think it will produce much but would depend on how soon you need to free up the space for the real crops.

Probably not worth the cost and effort, better to get some muck on the plot.

If you know anyone with chickens, beg a bit of mixed corn.  It germinates pretty much year round except in the coldest weather, grows fast and it easy to dig in when small.  It rots away quickly as well.  I quite often use it on the plot to dig in and/or supply the chickens with greens.

If you end up buying some, just keep the bag somewhere dry and rodent proof and it will stay viable for ages   :)
