just cut it to an obvious bud, and it should be fine - but you will probably stop it flowering this year, as it flowers on last year's wood.

If it's not in the way then prune after flowering ;)

I am training it on a trellace and its only 3 branches in the wrong place  :)  Thanks Mum I will go ahead  :D
