« on: November 23, 2006, 12:50 »
Got some of the 'ugly one' coming my way and dont think i've ever tasted it - let alone cooked it.

Any ideas what to do with it?

thanks

Dice it in casseroles, grate it on salads, make soup out of it.......... Last night had some mashed up with spuds as the topping of a shepherd's pie. The shepherd seemed to like it.  Tastes just like celery, but different consistency. Uses are as limited as your imagination!!!!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Not usually short in the imagination department (in fact often accused of having an over active one)

- but having never tasted one wasn't quite sure........I will try stews and soups and take it from there...   Any recipes would be good...

thanks

I like the look of Bronchitis Broccoli, Too Hot To Trout and Celeriac Curry, sounds just the thing to clear the passages on a winter's day, (I'm talking about the nasal ones before anyone comments!!).

You can thank Mr. Google!!

Grew celeriac for the first time this year, never even eaten it before. Got a really good crop, (makes up for the swede), very easy to grow & will be on my must grow list permanantly.
