Bit difficult to tell without a picture that shows the shape of the bush, but the flowers look like blackcurrant to me.  If you rub one of the leaves you should get the typical blackcurrant smell.

They're way too big for blackcurrant and each should have an embryonic currant behind it.

Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

They look like caper flowers, but the leaves look completely wrong  ::)

If you look in Google images, they're blackberry flowers  :)

Yes you are quite right DD.

I think Mum is quite right on the blackberry too.

I think I intended to type blackberry, but in between thinking blackberry and replying to the post my brain switched to blackcurrant, hence all the twaddle about rubbing the leaves together!  Apologies.

Could it be some kind of hybrid. The flowers look like brambles to me but those leaves look more like rasps.

I'm guessing that the leaves of the bramble are hiding under the others - brambles are sneaky like that  :nowink:

I agree with pdblake. If you would, a pic of the whole bush would give us a better idea.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

I'd say it's a berry of some kind.  You may have to wait for the fruit to discover which one.
