jingle bells
« on: July 25, 2015, 22:00 »
No this isn't about Christmas songs.

I've acquired a bag of large metal jingle bells (like a cat collar bell but bigger).  I'm wondering how to use these in some kind of bird scaring way.

Any ideas?

cow bell or not that big?  Bit noisy, but just hang them around your veggies?

Not that big. About half an inch across. I'm not sure that anything but a strong wind would be enough to set them jingling so I've been trying to think of ways to keep them moving.

That's my other option Grannie Annie but it seems a bit soon to be thinking about that!

I used some last year on presents with labels attached to them - last years said "every time a bell rings an angel gets it's wings", this year will do the same with another bell saying - think it will be "the bell still rings for those who truly believe"

If you tie a couple to the feet of a sparrow hawk or two then I reckon they'll be very effective.  ;)

Who was it who was making windmills out of pop bottles?  I'm sure search and you will find....  attach to the ends of the 'sails' and they will jingle beautifully ....

Or on strings like windchimes ....

Actually you could put them inside the body instead of the cut up bottle caps
