Re-Setting Mantis Tiller Tines
« on: February 29, 2012, 19:35 »
I've recently become custodian of our allotment group's 12 year old Mantis Tiller.  While it runs OK, some of the tines are badly bent, presumably due to hitting large stones etc. Can somebody help me out by describing how the tines should be 'set'. I have spoken to Mantis and they said some tines are bent one way, some the other way and some straight. However I didn't have much confidence in that answer as they said the tines should be bent either 45 degrees or 90 degrees!

Hopefully someone with a newish machine can have a look and describe the 'set' of the tines, i.e. which tines are bent which way, and by how much?

I have 'googled' the problem without success.

TIA

Hi paul

Just had a look at my mantis tiller, the tines seem to be bent in a random way.

There doesn't appear to be a pattern in which way they are set up.

Some are straight  then an angle of approx <45 one way, then straight, then  <45 the other

way.

None are at an angle >45certainly not 90

My warranty says a lifetime guarantee on the tines against breakage
