win some, lose some, but still get little surprises.
« on: September 25, 2011, 17:24 »
I tried growing Aubergine in my conservatory this year and got fed up of the flowers dropping off and no fruit, so I threw the couple of plants away a couple of weeks ago. I have also been growing some chillis from seeds I was given from a friend. My hubby has been looking after the small tomato houses (Little plastic ones) for about three weeks as I have been working long hours. he tells me the chillis aren't going red and hasn't brought in any ripe tomatoes.
Today, I had the first opportunity to look for myself and found,  yellow chillis (They were never going to be red!) and low and behold, tucked behind a tomato plant, an AUBERGINE! Not a very big one I grant you, but welcome anyway, from one plant I forgot about.  :D
Oh yes, there were plenty of tomatoes too, just about the last of them now. ::)

They do look really nice - even more so when you consider what a rubbish year it's been weatherwise!

As an aside, what variety of chilli are the yellow ones please?  I got a pack of mixed chilli seeds from my Grandad this year and one plant has produced the yellow chillis and I'm curious to know what type they are.  Unfortunately the packet never stated what type it contained.

Thank you, I don't know what the chillis are, but i will see if I still have the packet. They have been put away in the shed.
