It may have been a 'wind egg'  It will probably be all white, no yolk.

it could be the silkie laying. I have a photo somewhere of a wind egg so will try and find it for you  :)

I think any chook can lay a tiny white egg as a beginner... they can lay all sorts, including a soft  "jelly like" egg with no shell.   Eggs are sort of made when the actual ovum (egg) is released, a sits awaiting its albumen. If there is a small partical, this can fool the chooks innards into thinking its an ovum, and produces white, and then shell, but actually the ovum was never released. these are usually tiny, can be as small as a marble. Usually white only, without yolk. Has been nicknamed a 'wind' egg for years.
Pets:if you don't love them like family, don't have them

I now have an image in my mind of a chicken with wind.
Have you been feeding them on baked beans ?

no baked beans :)just layers pellets what is odd is that we have been getting 5 eggs a day and on that day it was 7 which is why im thinking the silkie is responsible.will update you all later when i go to collect todays eggs :)
