chicks
« on: November 22, 2017, 18:26 »
bit of a long story. rescued a few bantams from a gent who had to go into care.
took 5, they went in with my orpingtons ok
i had 1 bantam which was broody and was given some eggs from his broody hen which left the nest.anyway my hen hatched 5 out of 12 eggs then she left the nest. i then put the remainder in a incubator i bought of the old guy. my question is if they hatch will my hen take these on?

I don't know.
in my experience the hen leaves her eggs if she dose not think they are viable or for some reason the hatched chicks have wondered from the nest.
